Mac Game Center Not Working

If you're signed in to the same iCloud and Game Center accounts on all of your devices, you can access your game saves and progress in Apple Arcade games on all of them. If you're a member of Family Sharing, everyone in your family can use Apple Arcade, but they won’t see your gameplay data.

Jan 01, 2013  Game Center is a social feature that has been an app on the iPad and iPhone since iOS 5. With the advent of games in the Mac App Store, Game Center has now made the transition to Mac and introduced as a new app in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Game Center is intended to be a service that ties together games and gamers across all devices.

If you don't see your gameplay data on a device

If you can access your gameplay data on one device, but not on another, you might need to check your settings.

Check your settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  1. Make sure that you're signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID that you use on your other devices.
  2. Make sure that you are signed in to Game Center with the same Apple ID that you use on your other devices. Go to Settings > Game Center to see the Apple ID that you're using with Game Center.

If you still don’t see your data and you were playing on a different device, check your settings on that device.

Check your settings on your Apple TV

If you share your Apple TV with someone else, sign in to your iCloud and Game Center accounts before you play your Apple Arcade game.

On Apple TV, you also have to manually sign out of Game Center* and sign in to your account when you switch users:

  1. Make sure that you're signed in with the same Apple ID that you use with Apple Arcade.
  2. Open the Settings app, then select Users and Accounts. Make sure that you're signed in to iCloud and Game Center with the correct Apple ID.

If you still don’t see your data and you were playing on a different device, check your settings on that device.

*When you sign out of an iCloud account, some HomeKit features might be disabled. After you sign in, set up HomeKit features again.

Check your settings on your Mac

If you share your Mac with someone else, make sure that you're logged in to your Mac with your own user profile, not someone else's account. Then make sure that you're signed in to the same iCloud and Game Center accounts that you use with Apple Arcade. If you share your Mac with other Apple Arcade users, they should do the same, using their own Mac user profile, iCloud, and Game Center accounts.

If you still don’t see your data and you were playing on a different device, check your settings on that device.

If you cancel Apple Arcade

If you cancel your subscription to Apple Arcade for any reason, you can resubscribe and still access your gameplay data. If you wait too long, some of your game saves might not be supported by the time you resubscribe.

If you're not an Apple Arcade subscriber, you won't be able to play any Apple Arcade games, even if you downloaded them to your device. Delete the apps if you don't need them anymore, or resubscribe to keep playing.
