Since then, the game was sold 12 million times and became the most highly respected representative of the genre. During the game, you have to mine resources, fight monsters, craft items, and build anything you want.

This guide shows how to download Tmodloader for windows only. There might be a couple other ways but this is one I know will work from personal experience!

Getting Started

The first thing you wanna do is download Tmodloader for the version of terraria you have. You can find the download link here. Then scroll down and you should see this.

Click on the Windows download link colored blue.

Setting it up

By the way you will need WinRAR or something else that can unzip files. After WinRAR is installed or you already have it you can go to steam and go to library. Then Go to Terraria and right click. Click on properties. At the top of that click local files. Then click browse local files.

Finishing Up

After you have opened this file. unzip these files from the Tmodloader download.

Then you need to rename the terraria in browse local files to anything. It can be anything but terraria.exe and terraria. Once done drag all the Tmodloader files into the browse local files, file.

Once done you should have Tmodloader installed!

Back To Vanilla

If you wanna go back to vanilla simply drag the Modded Terraria file out of the terraria files. You can put it on your desktop or somewhere else besides your terraria files. Then if you load terraria back up it will update and you should be back to vanilla.

Step 1: Make sure your terraria is closed.

Step 2: Go to downloads.

Step 3: Choose your laptop/desktop configuration (Linux, Mac, Windows). Click on it.

Step 4: When the download is finished, open up your terraria folder (Can be found on desktop, or go to steam and right-click terraria, then properties, then local files). Copy your terraria if you wanna play regular if your bored of playing mods.

Step 5: Copy and paste everything from the tModLoader (Make sure you extract the tModLoader folder) into your terraria folder. When it says, “Terraria.exe is already in this folder” click “Replace”.

Step 6 (FINAL): Once your done with all of that, go to library and open up terraria. And voila! You have tModLoader!

Note that if you download mods from the Mod Browser, you need to go to mods, enable them, and then reload the mods area. (Exiting and entering the mods area won’t work.)

Terraria gameplay is based on the idea of survival. At the very beginning of the game, you have to choose a character you like and pick up him or her a haircut, clothes, boots, and color of skin. Right after that, you can start a game. The engine will generate a unique terrain and throw you into the game with a couple of utensils, such as a wooden sword and a copper pickaxe.

The first thing you should do is build at least a small dwelling to hide from the monstrous night creatures, such as zombies, warms and levitating eyeballs. These creatures are not very dangerous, but you need armor and better weapons to resist them without worrying about death.

Unlike Minecraft, the process of constructing buildings is not that exciting. It’s much more interesting to explore the underground world. There you can find endless corridors of caves full of monsters and randomly scattered treasure-chests.

Though it’s a single-player game, you are not alone in there. The more buildings in different areas you build, the more people spawn around to talk to you and to trade you useful stuff.

For this Terraria review, we tested mobile, console, and PC versions. The most comfortable and intuitive control scheme belongs to the classic PC version. However, you may enjoy the console version too because Terraria is a 2D platformer-like game. The touch-screen version is the poorest one. Its controls are not as fast as in other versions.
